Signs your system needs a check

Generation is lower than in previous years, or lower than the installer's estimate
The inverter shows a fault light, error code or nothing at all
The monitoring app has stopped updating
Pigeons nesting under the panels, or a lot of dirt and moss
Tripping fuse board, or the system has not been checked for several years

What the care plan includes

A yearly visit: visual inspection, panel clean and electrical checks
Inverter log and output compared with what the system should produce
A short written report
Priority booking if something goes wrong

Repairs and parts are quoted separately, and we always ask before doing any extra work.

Systems by other installers

Many homeowners find their original installer has stopped trading, or bought their system through a council group-buying scheme and now have no local contact. We look after any system, whoever fitted it, and can add a battery to it.

Questions

Do solar panels need cleaning?

Rain keeps them mostly clean, but traffic grime, bird droppings and moss can cut output. A clean every year or two is usually enough.

My inverter has stopped working. What do I do?

Note any error message, then book a fault diagnosis call-out (£135, first hour included). Inverters often last 10–15 years; a replacement starts from £950 fitted.

Do you do pigeon proofing for solar panels?

Yes. We clear nests and mess, then fit pigeon-proofing mesh around the edge of the panels, from £280.
